Conservation and surveillance of the conservation status of the wolf (Canis lupus) population in Slovenia (2010-2013) – SloWolf

The LIFE+ SloWolf project, which started with planned activities on 1 January 2010 and ended at the end of 2013, represents the first large-scale project about wolves in Slovenia. The applicant and leader of the project was the Animal Ecology Group at the Department of Biology of the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana. Beside the Society Dinaricum, a project partner was also the Slovenian Forest Service.

The role of Society Dinaricum was to coordinate volunteers for the wolf population monitoring activities- howling tests and snow tracking transect counts. We also participated in educational activities and in organizing an international wolf conference.

For more information about project activities, partners, co-financiers as well as finances and project reports are available at www.volkovi.si.
